What did Pete Docter say about the Inside Out Disney+ show?

“We have finished. It’s coming out next spring,” Docter said. “I’m not sure that there’s been a specific release date, but in the first film, remember we go to Dream Production to see how Riley’s dreams are made? It semi-explains why they’re so weird. We’ve continued the exploration of the power of dreams and how they affect us in our waking life, as well. So it’s pretty cool.”

The Inside Out spin-off series update comes shortly after Inside Out 2 premiered in United States movie theaters. Having opened on June 14, 2024, the movie has so far made approximately $438.7 million at the global box office off a $200 million budget.

“In the follow-up to 2015’s Oscar-winning Inside Out, Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust—who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts—aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety, Envy, Ennui, and Embarrassment show up,” the synopsis for Inside Out 2 reads.

The voice cast for Inside Out 2 includes Amy Poehler as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear, Liza Lapira as Disgust, Maya Hawke as Anxiety, Ayo Edebiri as Envy, Adèle Exarchopoulos as Ennui, Paul Walter Hauser as Embarrassment, Kensington Tallman as Riley Andersen, Diane Lane as Mrs. Andersen, Kyle MacLachlan as Mr. Anderson, Lilimar as Valentina “Val” Ortiz, Paula Pell as Mom’s Anger, Sumayyah Nuriddin-Green as Bree, Grace Lu as Grace, Yvette Nicole Brown as Coach Roberts, John Ratzenberger as Fritz, June Squibb as Nostalgia, and Ron Fuches as Bloofy.
