Peacemaker Season 2 Cast Adds Batman’s Ex-Girlfriend Sasha Bordeaux

The cast of Peacemaker Season 2 continues to grow as it goes into production. The series has added two new actors, with one playing the significant Batman-related character from DC, Sasha Bordeaux.

Peacemaker Season 2 cast adds Sol Rodriguez and David Denman

Star Trek: Picard star Sol Rodriguez is confirmed to be a part of the second season of the Peacemaker series. Also known for her work in projects including Grachi and Party of Five, she will play Sasha Bordeaux.

Meanwhile, The Wrap also reported that The Office’s David Denman has also been cast in an undisclosed role. James Gunn further confirmed the addition of the two actors, who will be joining Frank Grillo’s Rick Flag, Sr. and the returning cast members from Season 1.

Sasha Bordeaux’s inclusion in the series may come as a surprise to some fans. While she has a notable presence in the comics, being Batman’s ex-lover and much more, her appearance will mark a first for TV screens. Peacemaker Season 2 will mark the character’s first live-action appearance.

Who is DC’s Sasha Bordeaux?

DC’s Sasha Bordeaux made her debut in 2000’s Detective Comics #751. Created by Greg Rucka and Shawn Martinbrough, she started as a bodyguard of Bruce Wayne and eventually turned into his love interest after finding out his secret identity. She even became Batman’s apprentice and went on patrols with him.

Being a strong ally of the Caped Crusader, she was framed for murder alongside him during the Bruce Wayne: Fugitive arc. Refusing to reveal his secret identity to save herself, she also went to prison. From here, her journey took a dark turn as after Bruce escaped prison to clear their names, she was left behind.

Beaten close to death, the Checkmate agency faked her death and treated her in exchange for her services. However, Batman eventually found her to confess his feelings. Asking him to let her go, she became the right hand of Maxwell Lord.

Later, she became an ally of Batman once again and the two even shared a kiss. But their love story didn’t last long. She eventually went on to become an OMAC cyborg and gained enhanced strength, stamina, durability, speed, healing factors, and vision.

Then she was the “Black Queen” of the Checkmate organization and the lover of Mr. Terrific. Most recently, she helped against Darkseid’s forces in the Final Crisis event and appeared in JSA vs. Kobra Vol 1. Now, fans will be intrigued to see if Peacemaker Season 2 uses any of her backstory from the comics.
