A new trailer for Chucky Season 3 has been unveiled by Tiffany Valentine voice actress Jennifer Tilly, showcasing the emergence of John Waters as the creator behind the titular killer doll.
Tilly shared the teaser trailer on her X (formerly Twitter) account, accompanied with the caption, “It’s time to meet Chucky’s maker.” The eighth episode, “Final Destination,” will arrive on Syfy and USA Network on May 1. The upcoming episode will also premiere on Peacock the next day.
The 30-second clip highlights Jake’s (played by Zackary Arthur) quest to find Chucky in the spirit realm to get rid of him for good. Halfway through the video, Waters’ Wendell Wilkins was introduced, calling all his doll creations his “children.”
What to expect from John Waters’ character?
The upcoming episode will mark the renowned filmmaker’s return to Chucky’s world, only this time as the killer doll’s creator. Back in 2004, Waters starred as Pete Peters in Seed of Chucky opposite Tilly as Tiffany and Brad Dourif as Chucky. Dourif also served as the title character’s voice in the Syfy series, while Tilly also served as the original voice for the gothic doll in the 1998 Bride of Chucky.
In a previous interview, Tilly praised Waters’ portrayal of “a creepy doll maker.”
“I have to tell you, the second half is batshit crazy. It’s insane. We have John Waters coming in. He plays the creepy doll maker that created Chucky,” said Tilly. “He’s never played the kindly father. I don’t know what, something about John, he’s got that extra zhuzh-zhuzh that he can play these parts so well. He loves Chucky and the Chucky franchise.”
The official synopsis for Chucky Season 3 reads: “After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies — and allies — from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins.”
The cast for Chucky also includes Björgvin Arnarson, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Sarah Sherman, Nia Vardalos, Devon Sawa, and more.
