Following a critically-acclaimed season 1, Amazon Prime Video’s Fallout Season 2 is highly anticipated among fans. Thankfully, viewers will not have to wait too long as the video game-based series has already been renewed for another season.
Fallout Season 2 confirmed by Amazon
Prime Video’s official X handle has confirmed that Fallout will be back for a second season. This comes after it was revealed that Amazon MGM Studios is going to get a $25 million tax credit to film Season 2 in California.
The first season of the series was mostly shot in New York, with a few scenes filmed in Utah. It had one of the largest budgets, reporting a $153 million production cost. The expenses can be justified by the visual scale and scope of season 1.
The sci-fi drama brought a post-apocalyptic war-torn scenario to life. It features mutated humans, creatures, Ghouls, and other humans fighting in giant super-suits. Adding gory action sequences to these elements raised the quota of CGI needed, hence the high budget.
Based on the ending of Season 1, the second season will probably bring several elements of Fallout: New Vegas to life. It would likely be another big-budgeted venture for Amazon MGM Studios, especially after getting the aforementioned tax credit.
The official synopsis of Fallout from Amazon reads:
“Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. Two-hundred years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind – and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them.”
All 8 episodes of Fallout are currently available to binge on Prime Video.
