Paramount+’s hit medical drama series, SkyMed, has been renewed for Season 3 and will start production on Monday, March 25, in Manitoba and Ontario.
Similar to the first two seasons, the third season will also consist of nine episodes. Aaron Ashmore, who guest starred in the series as Wheezer Heaseman, has also been promoted as one of the series regulars.
Ashmore will be joined by series newcomers Anthony Grant (Star Trek: Discovery) as TJ and Nicola Correia-Damude (Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent) as Marianne. Both Grant and Correia-Damude will join the series in recurring roles.
What is SkyMed about?
Created by Julie Puckrin, the Canadian medical drama follows medics and pilots who work on air ambulances across Northern Canada’s remote skies. Despite their differences, each member of the team must rely on each other in order for them to survive their dangerous missions in the wilderness.
The official synopsis for SkyMed is as follows: “Life, death, and drama at 20,000 feet. The series weaves together intense character journeys and high-stakes medical rescues, as we follow the triumphs, heartbreaks, and tribulations of budding nurses and pilots flying air ambulances in remote Northern Canada. They’re all in over their heads, and on their own, with no one to rely on but each other.”
Skymed is produced by Piazza Entertainment.
Who else will return for Season 3?
In addition to Ashmore, who will return in the series as a series regular, returning cast members also include Natasha Calis as Hayley, Praneet Akilla as Chopper, Thomas Elms as Nowak, Morgan Holmstrom as Crystal, Sydney Kuhne as Stef, Mercedes Morris as Lexi, Kheon Clarke as Tristan, Aason ‘Ace’ Nadjiwon as Bodie, and Emilia McCarthy as Madison.
