The upcoming third season of NBC sci-fi drama La Brea will serve as its last season, NBC announced. Set to premiere its farewell season on January 9, 2024, the abbreviated Season 3 will only consist of six episodes.
Shortly after the Hollywood strikes ended, the network announced the return of its scripted shows, including Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D, Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, and Law & Order: Organized Crime. The third season of La Brea, on the other hand, will debut ahead of the final two episodes of Found Season 1.
What is La Brea about?
Heavily focusing on the Harris family — Eve (Natalie Zea), Gavin (Eoin Macken), Izzy (Zyra Gorecki), and Josh (Jack Martin) — the NBC series revolves around a massive sinkhole in Los Angeles that resulted in people getting transported to a prehistoric, mysterious land.
The synopsis for La Brea reads: “An epic adventure begins when a massive sinkhole opens in the middle of Los Angeles, pulling hundreds of people and buildings into its depths. Those who fell in find themselves in a mysterious and dangerous primeval land, where they have no choice but to band together to survive. Meanwhile, the rest of the world desperately seeks to understand what happened. In the search for answers, one family torn apart by this disaster will have to unlock the secrets of this inexplicable event to find a way back to each other.”
The rest of the show’s cast includes Chiké Okonkwo as Ty Coleman, Jon Seda as Sam Velez, Nicholas Gonzalez as Levi Delgado, Tonantzin Carmelo as Paara, Veronica St. Clair as Riley Velez, Lily Santiago (Veronica Castillo), Michelle Vergara Moore as Ella Jones, Josh McKenzie as Lucas Hayes, and Rohan Mirchandaney as Scott Israni.
All two seasons of La Brea are currently available to stream on Peacock and NBC.com.
