Pantheon Season 2 Gets Surprise Trailer After AMC+ Cancellation

Pantheon Season 2 gets a surprise trailer after getting canceled by AMC+ earlier this year. The animated series, which focuses on a technological breakthrough that leads to uploading a person’s consciousness into an online system, was canceled after one season despite receiving a two-season order. It was also removed from online platforms such as AMC+ and HiDive.

Pantheon Season 2 will release on Prime Video on October 15 in Australia and New Zealand. It’s unclear, at this time, if it will be released internationally.

What’s Pantheon About?

“The series focuses on Maddie, a bullied teen who receives mysterious help from someone online,” according to the synopsis. “The stranger is soon revealed to be her recently deceased father, David, whose consciousness has been uploaded to the Cloud following an experimental destructive brain scan. David is the first of a new kind of being: an Uploaded Intelligence or UI, but he will not be the last, as a global conspiracy unfolds that threatens to trigger a new kind of world war.”

Pantheon features the voices of Daniel Dae Kim (Lost), Katie Chang (The Bling Ring), Rosemarie DeWitt (Little Fires Everywhere), Paul Dano (The Batman), Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight), Taylor Schilling (Orange Is The New Black), Ron Livingston (Loudermilk), Raza Jaffrey (Homeland) Scoot McNairy (Narcos: Mexico), Anika Noni Rose (The Princess and the Frog), Maude Apatow (Euphoria), and more.

It’s based on Ken Liu’s collection of short stories about Upload Intelligence. The series is created and written by Craig Silverstein, who also serves as the showrunner. It is executive produced by Silverstein, with Liu acting as the consulting producer.
