According to Deadline, Bosch alum Clark Johnson has been enlisted to join the ensemble cast of Marvel Studios’ Daredevil: Born Again series.
Johnson is set to play the recurring role of Cherry in the upcoming Disney+ project. In addition to his recurring appearance, he has also been tapped to direct two episodes of the Charlie Cox-led superhero drama.
Johnson has been appearing in a number of TV shows since the mid-1980s. His notable acting credits include Night Heat, The Wire, Bosch, and Evil. Meanwhile, he started directing TV shows during the 1990s. This includes episodes of The West Wing, Homeland, The Walking Dead, City on the Hill, Your Honor, Mayor of Kingstown, and Alaska Daily. Disney+’s Daredevil revival won’t be the first time that Johnson will be directing a Marvel series, as he previously directed one episode of Netflix’s Luke Cage.
Who’s Involved in Daredevil: Born Again?
Daredevil: Born Again is described as an 18-episode revival of the original, which ran for three seasons. It will feature the return of leading stars Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, as they reprise their respective roles as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin.
Both characters made their Marvel Cinematic Universe debuts in 2021. Kingpin guest-starred in the Disney+ Hawkeye series, and Matt Murdock briefly appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Cox also recently guest-starred in two episodes of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, where he showed off a lighter side of the hero.
In addition to Cox and D’Onofrio, the Daredevil revival will also see the long-awaited return of Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher. Joining them are Sandrine Holt as Vanessa Fisk, Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, Michael Gaston, Nikki M. James, and Arty Froushan.
Daredevil: Born Again hails from head writers Matt Corman and Chris Ord, who will also serve as executive producers along with Kevin Feige. The series is currently set to premiere in the spring of 2024 on Disney+.
