When to Watch The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special
Disney+ set the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special release date at 3 a.m. ET/12 a.m. PT on Friday, November 25. Director James Gunn wrote and directed the upcoming 44-minute special. It stars Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, featuring Vin Diesel as Groot and Bradley Cooper as Rocket. The special will also feature appearances from Sean Gunn, The Old 97’s, Michael Rooker, and Kevin Bacon.
Judging from the footage released so far, the Guardians’ goal is to find a gift for Star-Lord (Pratt), who has been upset following Gamora’s disappearance at the end of Avengers: Endgame. Their plan leads them to Hollywood, where Drax and Mantis go out in search of Bacon (who is playing himself in the special), an actor Star-Lord has praised in past films.

The executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Gunn, Sara Smith, and Simon Hatt, with David J. Grant and Lars P. Winther serving as co-producers.
The space-traveling team’s latest appearance dates back to this year’s Thor: Love and Thunder, where they teamed up with Chris Hemsworth’s Thor for some intergalactic adventures in the film’s first act. More recently, Groot was the protagonist of the recent Disney+ series of shorts titled I Am Groot. The team will also appear in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which should debut on May 5, 2023.
