Cuphead, which was released in 2017, sports a look inspired by the classic Max Fleischer cartoons from the 1930s and has sold over 4 million copies since then. It also took home Best Indie Game at the 2017 Game Awards as well as a BAFTA Games award. The show takes a similar approach, and “follows the unique misadventures of loveable, impulsive scamp Cuphead and his cautious but easily swayed brother Mugman.”
The series is executive produced by C.J. Kettler (Carmen Sandiego) on behalf of King Features, while the brothers that created Cuphead, Chad and Jared Moldenhauer, serve as executive producers for Studio MDHR. Emmy and Annie award winner Dave Wasson (Mickey Mouse Shorts) will also executive produce. Cosmo Segurson (Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling) will also serve as co-executive producer, while Netflix animation will produce.
