The CW’s Riverdale Begins Production on Final Season

Writer and executive producer Ted Sullivan took to Instagram to confirm the production of the upcoming seventh and final season of Riverdale has officially started in British Columbia. There is currently no release date attached to the next installment of the long-running teen drama, but it will likely make its return sometime in 2023.

After announcing the ending of Riverdale, former CEO of The CW Mark Pedowitz confirmed that the final season won’t be shortened, in hopes of giving it the proper send-off it deserves.

Riverdale currently stars KJ Apa as Archie Andrews, Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper, Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge, Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones, Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl Blossom, Vanessa Morgan as Toni Topaz, Casey Cott as Kevin Keller, Charles Melton as Reggie Mantle, and Drew Ray Tanner as Fangs Fogarty.

Based on the characters from Archie Comics, Riverdale hails from Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios, in association with Berlanti Productions, with executive producers Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Jon Goldwater.
