Smiling Friends Special Sets HBO Max Release Date, Sends Pim & Charlie to Brazil

RottenTomatoes has revealed the release date and synopsis for the upcoming Smiling Friends special, which will see the titular group going to Brazil for a vacation.

Set to stream on HBO Max on August 7, the upcoming Smiling Friends special sends the group to Brazil, where they participate in all sorts of activities. The special is fittingly named “The Smiling Friends Go To Brazil.”

The synopsis for the special (per Rotten Tomatoes) is as follows:

“The Smiling Friends finally get to relax in a beautiful Brazilian beach town; Pim works on his novel; Charlie binges a load of torrent shows on his portable hard drive; Alan and Glep enjoy some long-awaited chill-out time at the beach.”

Smiling Friends was renewed for a second season earlier this year, though no date has been given pertaining to when it is expected to begin.

Smiling Friends follows the employees of a small company dedicated to bringing happiness to a bizarre yet colorful world,” reads the official series synopsis. The series was created by Michael Cusack and Zach Hadel, two popular internet animators who also voice Pim and Charlie, respectively. Prior to Smiling Friends, Cusack also created the adult swim series YOLO: Crystal Fantasy.
