The cast of Donald Glover’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith reboot series for Amazon has gotten bigger, as Michaela Coel, John Turturro, and Paul Dano have all been cast in the series.

According to a recent report from Variety, the trio of actors are all set to star in the upcoming series, although exact character details for are being kept under wraps as of now. The series will star Glover and Maya Erskine as John and John, respectively, a couple who are hired into a mysterious spy agency that throws the pair into the world of espionage.
Coel is best known for her role in the limited series I May Destroy You, a series in which she created, directed, and starred in en route to winning an Emmy Award for best writing in a limited series. She’s set to star next in the highly anticipated Black Panther sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Turturro and Dano will also reunite on the project, as the pair most recently starred in the hit DC film The Batman.
Mr. & Mrs. Smith is a reboot series, based on Doug Liman’s 2005 action comedy of the same name. It is co-created and executive produced by Glover and Francesca Sloane, who are both serving as showrunners. The project will be part of Glover’s overall deal with Amazon Studios.
Executive producers are New Regency’s Yariv Milchan and Michael Schaefer and Wells Street Films’ Jenny Robins. It is scheduled to make its debut on Prime Video.
The original film was penned by Simon Kinberg and helmed by Doug Liman. It centered on an upper-class married couple who are surprised to learn that they’re both assassins at competing agencies and have been assigned to kill each other. It was led by Oscar winners Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.
