“The Boys is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and as revered as gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about the supergroup known as ‘The Seven,'” says the synopsis. “The show retains most of the comics’ boundary-pushing violence and sexuality while exploring the dark side of superhero celebrity and fame.”
Based on the comic book series created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, Season 3 will see the addition of Katia Winter as Little Nina, Miles Gaston Villaneuva (Law & Order True Crime) as Supersonic, Sean Patrick Flanery (The Boondock Saints) as Gunpowder, Nick Wechsler (Revenge) as Blue Hawk, and Laurie Holden (The Walking Dead) as Crimson Countess.
