Stand-up comedian Jo Koy is set to star in Josep, a sitcom currently in development at ABC. He will also executive produce.
Josep is a half-hour single-camera sitcom that follows a Filipino American nurse as he “navigates dating, fatherhood, and his mother moving in with him.”

Hailing from 20th Television, Josep will be written and executive produced by Steve Joe; he will also serve as showrunner. Michael Golamco and Randall Park will also write and executive produce under Imminent Collision. Hieu Ho, Joe Meloche, Jake Kasdan, and Melvin Mar will also EP.
Koy is most known for his stand-up comedy in which he tells stories about his life growing up in a Filipino household, as well as raising his son. He has had several Netflix specials including Jo Koy: Live From Seattle and Jo Koy: Comin’ In Hot. The most recent, In His Elements, served as a sort of spotlight for Filipino culture rather than his comedic talents. Koy will star in the upcoming comedy Easter Sunday which is based on the comedian’s life experiences.

Joe has worked on shows such a Young Sheldon and The Real O’Neals. Golamco has written for film and TV including Always Be My Maybe and Grimm. Park most recently appeared in the TV shows Young Rock and WandaVision. Kasdan and Mar have worked together on projects such as Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story and the recent Jumanji films starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
