Brian Cox, Claes Bang, & More to Star in Remote Whodunnit Pilot

According to Deadline, UK producer Maggie Monteith is currently developing a filmed-from-home whodunnit pilot titled The Agoraphobics Detective Society with Golden Globe Award-winning actor Brian Cox (Succession) and Claes Bang (Dracula) signing on to star. The remote pilot is a way for the producers and actors to raise funds for COVID-19 relief programs that will benefit the UK and U.S. film and TV freelancers whose jobs have been hugely affected by the ongoing pandemic.

The Agoraphobics Detective Society pilot for the 8-episode series will revolve around a distraught group of patients, who have banded together to find a renowned expert psychiatrist who disappears without explanation. Joining Cox and Bang are journalist presenter Mariella Frostrup, Ian Harvie (Transparent), Nathan Stewart-Jarrett (Misfits), Antonia Campbell-Hughes (Kelly + Victor), Grace Van Patten (The Meyerowitz Stories), Nicole Ansari-Cox (Remember Me), Simon Kunz (The Parent Trap) and Josephine Butler (Doctors), who are all filming each of their parts from the comfort of their homes.

The show will be created by an all-female, transatlantic team of writers-directors including Dolly Wells (Doll and Em), Suzi Ewing (10×10) and Heidi Greensmith (Winter). Filming is currently underway for the pilot and will be available for streaming later this month on the Pinpoint Presents website, where viewers will be asked to donate what they can afford to view.
