The Conners Cast Close New Deals for More Seasons
You just can’t stop The Conners. The Roseanne revival’s cast, including Sara Gilbert, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf and Lecy Goranson, have all closed deals to return for another season, according to Deadline. Well, sort of. There is still work to be done, though, per the report, the pacts are for a 19-episode run. So, fans can rest assured the parties involved are very close to getting this thing finalized.
“We are very pleased with how the show is doing, and my hope is that — I’m confident that the network will pick up the show for another year, hopeful anyway,” said Tom Werner, whose production company, Werner Entertainment, handles cast negotiations. “My sense is that there is a lot of enthusiasm about what we are doing.”
Because the show serves as a spinoff to the Rosanne revival, the cast currently lack the standard six-year contracts and are instead forced to negotiate at the end of each season. As such, Gilbert, Goodman and Metcalf have all landed bigger paydays, said to be in the range of $375,000 per episode; as did Gorenson, who is said to have landed a contract worth $165,000 per episode.

After a sudden turn of events, the Conners have been forced to face the daily struggles of life in Lanford in a way they never have before. This iconic family — Dan, Jackie, Darlene, Becky, and D.J. — grapple with parenthood, dating, an unexpected pregnancy, financial pressures, aging and in-laws in working-class America. Through it all, the fights, the coupon cutting, the hand-me-downs, the breakdowns — with love, humor, and perseverance, the family prevails.
The Conners was originally greenlit to series with an order of 10 episodes for fall 2018. The series, featuring John Goodman (“Dan”), Laurie Metcalf (“Jackie”), Sara Gilbert (“Darlene”), Lecy Goranson (“Becky”) and Michael Fishman (“D.J.”) as their beloved Conner characters, was ranked as last season’s No. 1 new comedy in total viewers and 18-49 and ABC’s No. 1 comedy in both categories. This season, the series was easily ABC’s most watched comedy series with roughly 7.9 million viewers.
