Nicole Kidman To Star In and Produce Amazon’s Pretty Things

Nicole Kidman is looking to extend her small-screen success streak by signing on to star in and executive produce Amazon Studios’ adaptation of the upcoming Janelle Brown novel Pretty Things via her Blossom Films banner, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Brown’s novel, which is set to hit shelves on April 21, focuses on two brilliant but damaged women who try to survive the greatest game of deceit and destruction they will ever play when a reluctant grifter befriends a wealthy influencer on the shores of Lake Tahoe, revealing a con that develops into a treacherous game of long-awaited payback.

The series will be adapted by Brown (All We Ever Wanted Was Everything) and she will also act as executive producer alongside Emmy winner Reed Morano (The Handmaid’s Tale), who has an overall deal with Amazon, and Kidman’s Blossom Films partner Per Saari.

After over 30 years of starring on the big screen, Kidman returned to the small screen world in 2017 with the second season of the Elisabeth Moss-led mystery drama Top Of The Lake and the HBO drama Big Little Lies, which scored her both a Golden Globe and an Emmy. Her next TV project will be the upcoming HBO drama miniseries The Undoing, reuniting her with Big Little Lies adaptive scribe David E. Kelley, on which she will also executive produce.
