Deadline brings word that Golden Globe winner and MCU star Tom Hiddleston is set to make his TV comeback in Netflix‘s forthcoming political thriller series titled White Stork. Hiddleston will be portraying the lead role of a British politician named James Cooper.

White Stork (previously titled as Spadehead) follows the story of James Cooper, who is selected to run for a seat in parliament. However his whole career and personal life are in jeopardy when Asher Millan, who was sent to vet him for primetime, quickly uncovers potentially damaging secrets buried deep in his past that might cause his downfall.
The 10-episode series is written, executive produced and created by Christopher Dunlop with Kristoffer Nyholm (Taboo) attached to direct. It is a production by Eleven, the company behind Netflix’s popular teen series Sex Education.

Hiddleston gained worldwide recognition for portraying the fan-favorite villain Loki in the Marvel Studios’ Marvel Cinematic Universe. He is set to return as the God of Mischief in Disney+’s highly-anticipated MCU shows Loki and What If…? Hiddleston is also best known for starring in BBC’s critically-acclaimed The Night Manager limited series opposite Oscar winner Olivia Colman. For his performance in the miniseries, he had earned two Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor.
