Jerusalem’s Lot: Adrien Brody to Star in Epix’s New Stephen King Series

Variety brings word that Epix has officially given a series order to a new series adaptation of Jerusalem’s Lot, based on acclaimed author Stephen King‘s short horror story of the same name with Academy Award-winning actor Adrien Brody (The Pianist) attached to lead the series as Captain Charles Boone. This series will be Brody’s latest TV project since appearing in six episodes of Peaky Blinders in 2017.

“This series is an intense, absolutely terrifying reimagining of classic gothic horror,” Epix president Michael Wright said in a statement. “We can’t wait to work with the exceptional team of Donald De Line and Jason and Peter Filardi, along with our phenomenal lead actor, Adrien Brody…and of course, when it comes to horror, it doesn’t get any better or more masterful than Stephen King.  We’re thrilled to be the home to this incredible show.”

Set in the 1850s, Jerusalem’s Lot will follow the story of Captain Charles Boone, who relocates his family of three children to his ancestral home in the small, seemingly sleepy town of Preacher’s Corners, Maine after his wife dies at sea. However, Charles will soon have to confront the secrets of his family’s sordid history and fight to end the darkness that has plagued the Boones for generations.

The short story was part of the King’s Night Shift collection that was first published in 1978. Jerusalem’s Lot has been a popular place in most of King’s novels and was introduced in King’s 1975 novel Salem’s Lot. In previous interviews, the legendary horror writer had revealed that Jerusalem’s Lot was actually inspired by his former hometown of Durham, Maine.
