After the adorable partnership of The Mandalorian and the infantile member of Yoda’s species in the second episode of the Star Wars spin-off series, the third episode has finally arrived showing the titular hunter’s deepening connection with his bounty.

The Sin
Despite saving his life near the end of the previous episode, Mando (Pedro Pascal) feels he must conduct his duty and returns The Child to The Client (Werner Herzog) and Dr. Pershing (Omid Abtahi) for the reward of a major haul of Beskar steel. Before he leaves, Mando questions The Client about other fobs being sent out, with the latter stating he needed to ensure the job was a success while criticizing the hunter for asking what will happen to The Child.
The Way of the Mandalore
Upon payment of the Beskar, Mando brings it to the Armorer (Emily Swallow) to craft into fresh armor following his battle with the Mudhorn in the previous episode, but also draws the ire of his other tribes’ members for working for a former Empire member, stating they’re the reason the Mandalorians have to live in hiding. After a brief scuffle with another hunter, Mando reveals he’s never removed his helmet nor had it removed, as that is “the way.” In addition to crafting new armor, the Armorer also crafts a weapon entitled Whistling Birds, which she says is a rare but powerful weapon and to use it wisely against his enemies.
Everybody’s Jealous
In going to visit Greef Karga (Carl Weathers) in search of a new job, Mando learns every other hunter hates him and is jealous of the fact he was able to close out the big job involving the child, while also learning Karga earned a couple of blocks of Beskar steel for sending Mando to The Client. He acquires his next job for the son of a Mon Calamari nobleman on the planet Karlak, but as he heads to his ship and prepares to take off, he finds a memento of The Child and decides he can not leave him with The Client and Pershing.
Assault on The Client’s Residence
After deciding to go back for The Child, Mando does reconnaissance on the residence, listening in on a conversation between The Client and Dr. Pershing in which the former wants to extract a material from The Child while Pershing argues to keep it alive. The hunter starts strategically making his way into the building, blowing out a wall and fighting through multiple stormtroopers, killing 11 of them and incapacitating a few more. Upon finding Pershing with The Child, he takes it and begins making his escape, using the Whistling Birds to take out four of them in a stand-off and successfully making his way to his ship.
The Tribe Looks Out For Their Own
As Mando makes his way through the empty streets, the numerous bounty fobs for The Child are re-activated, sending numerous hunters after him. Before he can make it to his ship, he’s surrounded by a group of mercenaries led by Karga, who demands Mando puts The Child down on a speeder next to him and they can work out a deal to get him off-planet safely. Mando declines and engages in a shootout with all of the hunters, taking cover on the speeder and narrowly escaping before it’s deactivated by Karga. As it begins to appear he may not get out alive, stray gunfire rains down from the sky killing off various hunters and Mando looks up to see the various members of his tribe flying in to save his life and provide him cover for escape. Once he gets to his ship, he’s confronted by Karga, who snuck aboard, and after a brief standoff Mando shoots and seemingly kills him, but as he flies off, we see the Beskar steel Karga received as payment has saved his life.
