Pose, Season 2 Premiere: Ryan Murphy’s Golden Globe-nominated series — featuring the largest cast of transgender actors in series regular roles, as well as the largest recurring cast of LGBTQ actors ever for a scripted series — is set in the world of 1987 and looks at the juxtaposition of several segments of life and society in New York: the rise of the luxury universe, the downtown social and literary scene and the ball culture world. Season 2 will make the leap into the following decade, opening on the day Madonna’s single “Vogue” was released in 1990. Also, on the heels of the ballroom community establishing itself in pop culture and going mainstream, the House of Evangelista is forced to re-evaluate its goals. Meanwhile, the AIDS crisis worsens and the reaction from a group of activists reaches a fever pitch. The premiere will be available to stream on Amazon Prime following the FX premiere on Tuesday, June 11, as well as FX Networks.

Absentia: Season 2 Premiere: Amazon’s critically-acclaimed thriller series starring and executive produced by Stana Katic centers on FBI Agent Emily Byrne. While hunting one of Boston’s most notorious serial killers, Agent Byrne disappears without a trace and is declared dead. Six years later, Emily is found in a cabin in the woods, barely alive, and with no memory of the years she was missing. Returning home to learn her husband has remarried and her son is being raised by another woman, she soon finds herself implicated in a new series of murders. Season 2 continues Emily’s story as she struggles to define her new normal as a mother and a survivor of years of torture while enlisting police detective Tommy Gibbs to help investigate her history. The series returns on Friday, June 14.

Showtime

City on a Hill, Series Premiere: Executive produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon and starring Kevin Bacon and Aldis Hodge, Showtime’s new crime drama takes place in 1990s Boston, where an assistant attorney and a corrupt yet venerated FBI veteran work together on a case that grows to involve, and ultimately subvert, the entire criminal justice system of Boston. The series, which has “the veneer of a classic Boston cops-and-robbers drama but actually dives head first into challenging the very institutions it depicts,” will begin streaming on Sunday, June 16.

HBO

Euphoria, Series Premiere: Starring Zendaya, HBO’s teen drama, based on the Israeli series of the same name, follows a group of high school students as they struggle to move through the worlds of drugs, sex, identity, trauma, social media, love, and friendship. The new series will launch on Sunday, June 16.
