Deadwood: The Movie Premiere: The original movie based on David Milch’s acclaimed, Emmy-winning HBO series of the same name sees the indelible characters of the show reunited after a decade to celebrate South Dakota’s statehood. Former rivalries are reignited, alliances are tested and old wounds reopened as all are left to navigate the inevitable changes that modernity and time have wrought. Starring Timothy Olyphant and Ian McShane, the Deadwood movie will premiere on HBO on Friday, May 31.

Amazon Prime

Good Omens, Miniseries Premiere: BBC Studios’ adaptation of the best-selling novel by Neil Gaiman and the late Terry Pratchett will air in six-part are launching globally on Amazon Prime Video and on BBC Two in the UK. Michael Sheen and David Tennant star as a fussy angel rare book dealer and the fast-living demon. All of the highly-anticipated limited series will be available to stream on Friday, May 31.

Animal Kingdom, Season 4 Premiere: The Cody crime family returns in what could be the most intense season yet. Smurf ((Ellen Barkin) is back on top reminding her boys — confronted by  who’s boss no matter whom she hurts in the process.  As always, outsiders move in to threaten the Cody’s fragile peace, including Angela (Deschanel), the former best friend of J’s deceased mother and a recovering junkie, who tries to snake her way back into the family’s good graces. A new criminal crew is also introduced with a surprising connection to the Codys. The TNT drama will be available to stream following its premiere on Tuesday, May 28.

When They See Us, Series Premiere: From Academy Award nominee Ava DuVernary, the new miniseries tells the story of the Central Park Five. Based on true events, the series chronicles the notorious case of five teenagers of color who were convicted of a rape they did not commit. The four-part limited series will focus on the five teenagers from Harlem — Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana, and Korey Wise, spanning 25 years from 1989 to 2014. The miniseries will premiere on Friday, May 31.

Fear the Walking Dead, Season 5 Premiere: Season 5 of The Walking Dead spinoff returns and the group’s mission is clear: locate survivors and help make what’s left of the world a slightly better place. With dogged determination, Morgan Jones (James) leads the group with a philosophy rooted in benevolence, community, and hope. Each character believes that helping others will allow them to make up for the wrongs of their pasts. But trust won’t be easily earned. Their mission of helping others will be put to the ultimate test when our group finds themselves in unchartered territory, one which will force them to face not just their pasts but also their fears. It is only through facing those fears that the group will discover an entirely new way to live, one that will leave them forever changed. The new season will premiere on Sunday, June 2.

NOS4A2, Series Premiere: Based on Joe Hill’s bestselling novel, the supernatural series starring Zachary Quinto and Ashleigh Cummings tells the story of Charlie Manx, a seductive immortal who feeds off the souls of children, then deposits what remains of them into Christmasland – an icy, twisted Christmas village of Manx’s imagination where every day is Christmas Day and unhappiness is against the law. Manx finds his whole world threatened when a young woman in New England discovers she has a dangerous gift. The series will launch on Sunday, June 2.

DC Universe

Swamp Thing, Series Premiere: DC Universe’s new live-action horror series based on the comic book character follows Abby Arcane (Crystal Reed), a CDC investigator who discovers that the local swamps hold numerous secrets while looking into an epidemic in her Lousiana hometown after her partner seemingly dies and transforms into Swamp Thing (Derek Mears). The series will begin streaming on Friday, May 31.

Renewals

Gentleman Jack, Season 2: The HBO and BBC period drama has been renewed for a second season following a successful launch of the new series! Based on the real-life Anne Lister, the series is set in 1832 Halifax, West Yorkshire amidst the industrial revolution, and follows landowner Anne Lister as she’s determined to transform the fate of her faded ancestral home, Shibden Hall, by reopening the coal mines and marrying well — but has no intention of marrying a man. The story examines Lister’s relationships with her family, servants, tenants and industrial rivals and, most importantly, would-be wife. The first season is currently streaming on HBO.
