Jerome Flynn, best known for his role as Bronn in HBO’s Game of Thrones, has been cast in Amazon’s Dark Tower series adaptation of Stephen King’s novels. The actor confirmed the news in an interview with The Mirror (via Birth.Movies.Death).

Flynn, whose credits also include Ripper Street, Badger, and the upcoming John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, will join the previously announced Jasper Pääkkönen (Vikings) and Sam Strike (Nightflyers) in the series. Flynn will play a cowboy in Amazon’s Dark Tower, which checks off the actor’s bucket list item of having always wanted to play a cowboy.
The series was originally planned as a tie-in to the 2017 The Dark Tower film that stared Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey. Amazon shifted gears and is now planning for the series to be a more faithful adaptation of the book series.
The Dark Tower series is produced by Media Rights Capital (MRC). Glen Mazzara will serve as showrunner and executive producer.

The adaptation joins Amazon’s lineup of high-profile projects currently in development, including the Lord of the Rings prequel series that has already received a two-season commitment. The show is being developed by JD Payne and Patrick McKay.
