Hulu has officially given series orders to two new shows: the revenge drama Reprisal and the historical drama The Great, which will be led by Abigail Spencer and Elle Fanning, respectively.

Reprisal is described as a hyper-kinetic revenge tale following a relentless femme fatale who, after being left for dead, leads a vengeful campaign against a bombastic gang of gearheads. It was given a pilot order last June 2018 with Josh Corbin (StartUp) as the writer and creator. Ann Johnson, Graham Littlefield, Barry Jossen, Corbin, Warren Littlefield and Jonathan van Tulleken are also the drama’s executive producers with van Tulleken directing the pilot.
The series will star Spencer (Timeless), Rodrigo Santoro (Westworld), Mena Massoud (Aladdin), Madison Davenport (Sharp Objects), Rhys Wakefield (The Purge), David Dastmalchian (Ant-Man and the Wasp), W. Earl Brown (Deadwood) and Gilbert Owuor (Goliath). It is set to debut sometime this year.

The Great will be telling the rise of Catherine the Great through the 18th Century Russia, played by Elle Fanning, and her explosive relationship with husband Peter. It is written and executive produced by Tony McNamara (The Favourite) and directed by Matt Shakman (Game Of Thrones). The drama is scheduled to launch on 2020.
The series will also star Nicholas Hoult as Russian emperor Peter, Phoebe Fox (Eye in the Sky, One Day), Adam Godley (Breaking Bad), Gwilym Lee (Bohemian Rhapsody), Charity Wakefield (Bounty Hunters, Sense & Sensibility), Douglas Hodge (Penny Dreadful) and Sacha Dhawan (After Earth, Iron Fist).
