CBS has announced it has renewed three of its freshmen series for the 2019-20 season, FBI, The Neighborhood and the Magnum P.I. reboot.
“Each of these distinctive shows has made their mark in a variety of ways,” said Kelly Kahl, President, CBS Entertainment. “Our goals this season were to introduce new series that audiences are passionate about, add more strength to a winning schedule and create more inclusive programming.”
All three shows improved greatly in terms of viewership since their respective premier. FBI is a top 10 series and CBS’ number one new show with almost 13 million viewers each week. The Neighborhood draws almost eight million viewers during its Monday time slot, and continues to improve, and Magnum P.I. has improved by over 32 percent.
FBI,executive produced by Dick Wolf, Craig Turk, Arthur W. Forney and Peter Jankowski, takes a deep dive into the hectic, high-stakes world of the New York office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The fast-paced drama stars Missy Peregrym, Zeeko Zaki, Jeremy Sisto, Ebonee Noel, Connie Nielsen and Sela Ward. FBI airs Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. EST.
Magnum P.I reboot stars Jay Hernandez (Friday Night Lights, Bad Moms, Suicide Squad) as Magnum, Zachary Knighton (Happy Endings, Santa Clarita Diet, Little Bitches) as Rick Wright, Stephen Hill as Theodore Calvin and Perdita Weeks (Ready Player One) as Juliet Higgins. The show airs Mondays at 9:00 p.m. EST.
The Neighborhood stars Cedric the Entertainer and Tichina Arnold as a neighborhood couple coping with new move-ins Max Greenfield and Beth Behrs. The show also stars Sheaun McKinney, Marcel Spears and Hank Greenspan. Jim Reynolds, Aaron Kaplan, Dana Honor, Wendi Trilling, Cedric the Entertainer and Eric Rhone are executive producers. The comedy airs Mondays at 8:00 p.m. EST.
