The producers behind Catastrophe and Peaky Blinders are joining forces to bring a new series to life, per The Hollywood Reporter. Dirty, written by Shameless scribe Danny Brocklehurst, is a new Amazon series that will take a crude, but brutally honest look at life in the modern world.
Dirty is being produced by Caryn Mandabach Productions, who are behind the Netflix/BBC period drama Peaky Blinders, along with Sharon Horgan’s Merman, who produce the Amazon series Catastrophe, are developing the series alongside Kapital Entertainment.
“I love Danny’s writing, and I loved this idea from the minute I read it. There’s an atmosphere and grit to it that feels very new. We’re delighted that we get to bring it to life,” Horgan said about the show.
“In Dirty, Danny has created a truly surprising lead. I’m so happy to be working with Danny, Merman, Kapital and Amazon, which is the perfect home for a series that’s going to be hugely entertaining and deeply resonant,” added Jamie Glazebrook of Caryn Mandabach Productions.
Caryn Mandabach and Glazebrook will serve as executive producers for Caryn Mandabach Productions alongside Horgan and Clelia Mountford for Merman, Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor of Kapital Entertainment, and Brocklehurst himself
