Agents of SHIELD Season 6 Episode 4 brings the return of Deke. Stuck in the present (his past), Deke steals SHIELD tech and uses it along with his knowledge of the future as the basis for creating his own tech startup. With his social media influencer girlfriend, Sequoia, Deke is looking to disrupt VR gaming, the world’s food supply, and more.
I’ve Been Looking All Over For You
Sarge and his team track a man named Harold Simcoe to a bus station, where the 51 year old is traveling to Souix City, the convergence point of 3 ley lines. Sarge stabs Simcoe in the belly, causing mineral spikes to rupture through the man’s flesh.
At headquarters, Benson performs an autopsy on Simcoe, his second dissection of an unusual corpse since joining SHIELD. Inside, Benson, Keller, and Yo-yo find an alien bird that has pumped toxic accelerants into Simcoe’s bloodstream. The toxins make Simcoe a zombie and the accelerants make him a bomb. Removing Sarge’s dagger sets the dead alien bird free. Yo-yo and Keller try to track it through the duct work, but the alien catches them off guard and burrows into Keller’s mouth.
The alien affixes itself to Keller’s vascular system, killing Keller and turning him into a walking explosive. Yo-yo and Benson try to move Keller to a containment unit as his body begins to overheat. Keller bursts out of his restraints and begins to crystalize in the hallway, his body torn apart in the process. Yo-yo is forced to stab Keller, killing the alien before it can blow up headquarters.
You Shouldn’t Be Here
Sarge and his team come for Deke next, as they are tracking individuals who don’t belong on this earth. While Deke’s signature indicates such, it is also different from the others that the team is tracking, possibly because Deke is displaced in time as well. Deke thinks that Sarge is Coulson, at first. Sarge doesn’t kill Deke, using him instead for information. When Deke realizes that Sarge isn’t Coulson, he tries to run while Sarge’s team attacks the building.
Deke’s partner at the company is actually a SHIELD agent sent to keep tabs on Deke. He calls in an evacuation. When Mack and May arrive, Agent Khan explains that someone looking like Coulson is in the building and after Deke.
The extraction just became an assault.
SHIELD goes in after the villains while Deke is told to stay put. However, Sequoia calls. She’s back with boba tea, where is everyone? Deke tells her that the building is a war zone and to hide. Reluctantly and without a weapon, Deke goes in to save her.
In the assault, May squares off with Snow. The two battle until May gets the upper hand. Sarge, however, gets the drop on May. He and Snowflake abduct May and drive off with her, leaving the others behind. Mack takes out Pax while Deke lures Jaco into the VR world, allowing he and Mack to capture him.
