Gypsy Rose Blanchard was released last year in December after being imprisoned for eight years. Previously, the court incarcerated her and her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, for the murder of Dee Dee Blanchard. However, unlike Gypsy, Nicholas will spend the rest of his life in jail without the possibility of parole.
As per People Magazine, Gypsy was born on July 27, 1991, to Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard and Rod Blanchard. Following Gypsy’s birth, her parents split. A few years later, Rod married Kristy Blanchard and had two children—Mia and Dylan. Thus, this means Rod’s children with Kristy are Gypsy’s half-siblings. Even though there is a ten-year age difference between Gypsy and Mia, the two share a close bond. Moreover, they had a sweet reunion after Gypsy was released from prison.
Mia even appeared in the new Lifetime documentary titled The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard and stated that her sister’s sentence was too long. She said, “I always thought that 10 years was too long. She deserved to be in jail but she also deserved to get help. I feel sorry Gypsy didn’t get the life that I got to live.”
Why was Mia Blanchard skeptical of Gypsy’s marriage to Ryan Anderson?
Gypsy is married to a Louisiana-based teacher named Ryan Anderson. Interestingly, Mia wasn’t too sure about the couple at the start. Expressing her concern, she stated, “She [Gypsy] don’t know what it’s like to live in the real world yet. She doesn’t know what it’s like to live with a man and I’m just worried it’ll end in divorce. I don’t want to make her feel like I don’t support her or that she’s still being controlled, but I never met him.”
She further said, “You’re going to worry about if this person has the right intentions if they can really give her what she needs.” Even after Mia met Gypsy’s now-husband, she remained skeptical about her sister’s marriage. In the documentary, Mia said, “I’m not going to keep from doing anything, I want her to live. But she has a whole life to experience, a whole life to live.”
According to People Magazine, Mia Blanchard was born on June 26, 2001. She graduated from high school in 2019 and went on to study nursing at the University of Louisiana.
