The Thai reality show Fully Booked premiered its first episode on Monday, March 18, 2024, at 6 p.m. ICT on GMMTV’s official YouTube channel. It takes viewers on an exciting adventure as six idols from the production house—Earth, Gun, Pond, Force, Book, and Dunk—open a Thai restaurant in Osaka, Japan.
Episode 1 begins with the idols meeting ahead of the show. The stars are seemingly unaware of the project as the PD tells them about the Thai restaurant they will take over in Japan. The idols will run the restaurant for two days, and the service will run for two rounds daily, taking 24 customers per round. The challenge is to receive a more than 80% satisfaction rate for every dish they serve to the customer.
The team is then told to brainstorm and come up with the dishes they will be serving. However, the food will be served as a course—appetizers, mains, and desserts.
Fully Booked episode 1 recap: Teams learn from expert Chef Tukta
Earth, Gun, Pond, Force, Book, and Dunk look up what Thai food Japanese people like. After a lengthy discussion and quirky banter, the guys decide on their menu choices for a complete course for both days and rounds. Furthermore, the idols are divided into two teams – the first group would be responsible for cooking the main course, while the second would take care of the appetizer and dessert.
Book exclaims that he will be on the same team as Earth and “follow him everywhere.” They decide Book, Earth, and Pond will be on the main course team, and Force, Gun, and Dunk on the appetizer and dessert team.
The guys are then sent to brush up their culinary skills by learning from Chef Tukta. She specializes in traditional local Thai food and owns the Kub Khao Kub Ta YouTube channel. The idols exclaim in excitement as they watch her cooking videos. Chef Tukta walks them through the stages of creating a fine dish, from ingredients to seasonings. The boys also enjoy the dishes while learning how to cook them.
After Chef Tukta’s instructions, Gun, Dunk, and Force try to cook Somtam Thai (Papaya Salad) and Fried Sesame Chicken. Dunk’s notes and smooth teamwork help them prepare the dishes. However, Chef Tukta is critical of Somtam Thai’s appearance and taste. Nevertheless, the Fried Sesame Chicken Wings pass with flying colors. The team takes note of the shortcomings and shows enthusiasm to improve themselves.
