Watch Burt Reynolds play an aging actor in The Last Movie Star
A24 has released a brand new trailer for The Last Movie Star, which stars Burt Reynolds (Boogie Nights, Smokey and the Bandit), Ariel Winter (Modern Family, Sofia the First) and Clark Duke (Hot Tub Time Machine, Kick-Ass 2). You can check out the trailer for The Last Movie Star in the player below.
In the film, Reynolds plays an aging actor named Vic Edwards who was very popular in his earlier career. He was a college football player, then a stunt double and then a leading man. He heads to Nashville (after getting advice from a friend played by Chevy Chase) to get a lifetime achievement award. Instead of being given a hotel suite and pampered, he finds that it’s a low budget festival put on locally and that he’s the only major honoree who has ever shown up. While he’s there, however, he goes on a journey of self-discovery.
The Last Movie Star is directed by Adam Rifkin (Small Soldiers, Look) and also stars Ellar Coltrane (Boyhood, Fast Food Nation). The film will premiere on DIRECTV on February 22 and will hit select theaters in New York and Los Angeles on March 30.
