Sony’s Columbia Pictures have released the first trailer for Sicario 2: Soldado, the upcoming sequel to Denis Villeneuve’s Sicario. Check it out in the player below, along with new photos in the gallery!

In Sicario 2: Soldado, the drug war on the US-Mexico border has escalated as the cartels have begun trafficking terrorists across the US border. To fight the war, federal agent Matt Graver (Josh Brolin) reteams with the mercurial Alejandro (Benicio Del Toro).

Also starring in Soldado are Isabela Moner (Transformers: The Last Knight), Jeffrey Donovan (Burn Notice, Fargo), Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Magnificent Seven, Murder on the Orient Express), and Catherine Keener (Get Out, The 40-Year-Old Virgin).

Italian director Stefano Sollima (Gomorra, A.C.A.B.) directs the film, which once again was written by screenwriter Taylor Sheridan (Wind River).

Sicario 2: Soldado will open in theaters on June 29, 2018.
