Keanu Reeves and Renée Zwelleger discuss this Friday’s The Whole Truth movie
Opening in both theaters and via On Demand this Friday, The Whole Truth movie marks the second feature film from Academy Award-nominated director Courtney Hunt. Hunt’s 2008 drama Frozen River was nominated for two awards: Best Actress for star Melissa Leo and Best Original Screenplay for Hunt’s own script. With The Whole Truth movie, Hunt constructs a courtroom drama that sets Keanu Reeves as defense Attorney Richard Ramsey, a dedicated lawyer who wants nothing more than to defend his client from a murder charge. There’s just one problem: the accused refuses to speak a word.

ComingSoon.net recently sat down with The Whole Truth movie stars Keanu Reeves and Renée Zellweger to discuss the contemporary mystery thriller. Zellweger plays the role of Loretta Lassiter, the matriarch of a wealthy family who is an old friend of Ramsey’s and who is married to the deceased. Loud and abusive, Loretta’s husband Boone (Jim Belushi) was found stabbed to death in his home with all evidence pointing to Loretta and Boone’s teenage son, Mike (Gabriel Basso), as the killer. As Mike’s trial unfolds, Ramsey does whatever he can to defend the kid while the shocking truth makes itself known.
The Whole Truth movie cast also includes Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Janelle, a colleague of Reeves’ whom he brings aboard to help navigate the intricacies of the American legal system. The film’s courtroom proceedings are influenced by Hunt’s own history as a law student.
