July 5 brings home By the Sea, I Saw the Light, The Real Ghostbusters and more!
Welcome to ComingSoon.net’s look at all the top titles arriving this week on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD. Check out the gallery viewer below for a look at the major new releases, catalogue films and television collections hitting shelves and/or VOD beginning Tuesday, July 5, 2016.
Following the long weekend, July 5 is a quieter new release Tuesday than most, but there’s still an interesting mix of titles. This list begins with The Adderall Diaries, writer and director Pamela Romanowsky’s true crime thriller, starring James Franco, Ed Harris and Amber Heard. You can take a look at how the cast came together in an exclusive clip from the Blu-ray’s special features at the bottom of this page.
Next up is Angelina Jolie’s By the Sea, written, directed and starring the Academy Award winner opposite real-life husband (and fellow Oscar winner) Brad Pitt. July 5 also delivers the Hank Williams biopic I Saw the Light, starring Tom Hiddleston as the country music legend, Term Life, the black comedy crime thriller that teams Vince Vaughn as an expert criminal with Hailee Steinfeld as his estranged daughter, and Search Party, the ensemble comedy starring T. J. Miller, Adam Pally, Thomas Middleditch, Alison Brie, Shannon Woodward and Krysten Ritter.
Debuting domestically July 5 is The Mermaid, the romantic fantasy comedy that, earlier this year, became the biggest Chinese release of all time.
There’s a pair of action heavy features arriving directly to home video this week with both Code of Honor, starring Steven Seagal, and the ensemble action comedy Vigilante Diaries.
Hitting DVD only is Jason Bateman’s second directorial feature, The Family Fang, based on the bestselling novel by Kevin Wilson.
Shout! Factory this week delivers both the recent Travis Z remake of Eli Roth’s Cabin Fever as well as Nick Robertson’s recent killer dog thriller The Pack. Arrow Films, meanwhile, has another treat for horror movie fans as July 5 sees the release of their special edition of Mario Bava’s Blood and Black Lace, available for a limited time in a stylish Steelbook.
In preparation for this month’s big screen Ghostbusters, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is rereleasing The Real Ghostbusters cartoon series. Five volumes are available July 5, offering the first 50 episodes of the Saturday morning tie-in.
Also arriving July 5 is the complete fourth season of Netflix‘s hit series House of Cards (packed with Frank Underwood campaign stickers, no less!)
