Roadside Attractions has just debuted, via Yahoo! Movies, the first Genius trailer. In the player below, you can take a first look at the upcoming true literary tale. There’s also the first still from Genius, which you can check out in full in the gallery viewer at the bottom of this page.
From Academy Award-nominated screenwriter John Logan (Gladiator, The Aviator) and acclaimed, Tony Award-winning director Michael Grandage in his feature film debut, comes Genius, a drama about the complex friendship and transformative professional relationship between the world-renowned book editor Maxwell Perkins (the man who discovered authors like F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway) and the larger than life literary giant Thomas Wolfe.
Based on the biography “Max Perkins: Editor of Genius” by author A. Scott Berg, Genius stars Oscar winner Colin Firth (The King’s Speech, Kingsman: The Secret Service) as Perkins, Oscar nominee Jude Law (Sherlock Holmes, Spy) as Wolfe, Oscar winner Nicole Kidman as Aline Bernstein, a costume designer sharing a tumultuous relationship with Wolfe, three time Oscar nominee Laura Linney (The Big C, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows) as Louise Perkins, Max’s wife and a talented playwright and Golden Globe nominees Guy Pearce (Prometheus, The Rover) and Dominic West (The Wire, The Affair) as F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway, respectively.
Genius will hit theaters June 10, opening opposite Duncan Jones’ video game adaptation Warcraft, the magical heist thriller sequel Now You See Me 2 and James Wan’s blockbuster horror followup The Conjuring 2.
