Fox and MGM premiered a new trailer and poster for their upcoming Poltergeist remake, set to hit theaters on May 22 and starring Rosemarie DeWitt, Sam Rockwell, Jared Harris and Kyle Catlett.
Directed by Gil Kenan (Monster House), this remake is said to “contemporize” the classic tale about a family whose suburban home is haunted by evil forces. When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks and hold the youngest daughter captive, the family must come together to rescue her before she disappears forever.
I’m not sure how you “contemporize” the original, but perhaps the fact it’s PG-13 and being released in 3-D is what they are referring to. Check out the new Poltergeist trailer and poster below and maybe you can help me out.
