Apologies for the name-dropping in the lengthy headline, but I assumed you might not be that quick to click had I only mentioned the film’s title as Masterminds wasn’t a title I was immediately familiar with, but you add the list of stars including Zach Galifianakis, Owen Wilson, Kristen Wiig and Jason Sudeikis and this trailer premiere suddenly becomes a little more interesting.
Directed by Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite) and apparently inspired by a true story, this comedy centers on David Ghantt (Galifianakis), an armored vehicle driver looking for a little adventure, but his life of monotony is about to take a turn when his flirtatious work crush Kelly Campbell (Wiig) lures him into the scheme of a lifetime. As I’m sure you can tell by that description and the poster below, where this one is heading is no secret, the question is, Will it be funny?
