Drew Barrymore and John Krasinski Save Whales in the ‘Big Miracle’ Trailer

News of the first trailer for Big Miracle arrived in my Inbox and I was baffled? What is this movie starring Drew Barrymore, John Krasinski, Kristen Bell, Dermot Mulroney, Tim Blake Nelson and Ted Danson? I’d never heard of it… but I had. When it was originally announced it was titled Everybody Loves Whales and now it’s steering clear of the obvious and going more metaphorical with its title.

The film is inspired by a true story of a small town news reporter (Krasinski), a Greenpeace volunteer (Barrymore) and the unlikely coalition of Russian and American military who unite to rescue a family of gray whales trapped by rapidly forming ice in the Arctic Circle.

I didn’t see this weekend’s upcoming new release Dolphin Tale, which I presume will be a good movie and would expect just as much from this one. When you’re talking about these emotional human stories and when they involve the saving of animals it is all the more easy to tell an emotionally engaging story.

As for this film, it will hit theaters on February 3, 2012. Check out the first trailer below.
