We’ve still got a little over two weeks before Kevin James is back on duty in Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2. In the meantime, Sony Pictures has just dropped a new trailer for the sequel, this one parodying this Friday’s highly-anticipated release from Universal Pictures, Furious 7. In the player below, you can take a look at what is dubbed 2 Blart 2 Furious.
“This weekend,” the trailer’s official description reads, “we know things are going to get very furious very fast… but let’s face it: a street race is dangerous business. Especially when it takes place in a mall parking lot. When safety calls, only one man has the confidence, the enthusiasm, the can-do spirit, and the tools to keep America safe. And that man’s name is Blart.”
In this sequel, Blart, after years of keeping malls safe, has earned a well-deserved vacation. He heads to Las Vegas to attend a Security Guard Expo with his teenage daughter before she departs for college but, while at the convention, he inadvertently discovers a heist. Now it’s up to Blart to apprehend the criminals and, once again, save the day.
Also starring Raini Rodriguez, Molly Shannon, David Henrie, Eduardo Verastegui, Nicholas Turturro, Gary Valentine and Neal McDonough, Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 is directed by She’s the Man and Escape to Witch Mountain helmer Andy Fickman and features a screenplay by James and Nick Bakay. it opens in theaters on April 17.
