Hitting theaters later this month, Lionsgate’s action comedy caper Mortdecai has just delivered two new TV spots. Check out an extended one in the top player below and an additional, regular TV spot just beneath that.
The international adventure stars Johnny Depp (Alice in Wonderland, Into the Woods), Ewan McGregor (The Impossible, Trainspotting), Gwyneth Paltrow (Iron Man, Contagion), Paul Bettany (A Beautiful Mind, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou) and Olivia Munn (“The Newsroom,” Magic Mike).
Juggling some angry Russians, the British Mi5, his impossibly leggy wife and an international terrorist, debonair art dealer and part time rogue Charlie Mortdecai (Depp) must traverse the globe armed only with his good looks and special charm in a race to recover a stolen painting rumored to contain the code to a lost bank account filled with Nazi gold.
Based on “The Great Mortdecai Moustache Mystery,” the first book in Bonfiglioi’s 1970s series of novel, Mortdecai features an adapted screenplay by Eric Aronson, Peter Baynham and Koepp himself. Look for it in theaters January 23, 2015, opening opposite Kevin MacDonald’s Black Sea, starring Jude Law, the Jennifer Lopez-led thriller The Boy Next Door, and the Lucasfilm Ltd. animated fantasy Strange Magic.
