Nazi Relics Unleash An Ancient Evil in Solvent Trailer | Exclusive

ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive Solvent trailer for the upcoming U.S. release of the supernatural mystery drama. Following its premiere at the 2024 Slash Filmfestival in Vienna, the movie is now slated to make its debut in Alamo Drafthouse Lower Manhattan on August 16, and in Alamo Drathouse DTLA on August 22. This will then be followed by its digital release on October 10, 2025.

What is Solvent about?

“An American expat joins a team of experts searching an abandoned Austrian farmhouse for historical Nazi documents that may be hidden within it,” reads the official synopsis. “However, when they discover a secret buried deep in the home’s bowels, the team is forced to confront an ancient, insatiable evil intent on consuming them and everything they hold dear.”

Described as a first-person horror movie, Solvent is directed by Johannes Grenzfurthner, who co-wrote the screenplay with Benjamin Roberts. The cast features Jon Gries, Aleksandra Cwen, Johannes Grenzfurthner, Roland Grtzer, Jasmin Hagendorfer, Ronald von den Sternen, Peter Plos, and Sky Elobar. It has a total runtime of 94 minutes or an hour and 34 minutes.

The English-language Austrian movie is produced by Günther Friesinger, Julianne Gabert, Johannes Grenzfurthner, and Jasmin Hagerdorfer. Meanwhile, Tom Gorai, Neal Jones, Annick Mahnert, and Bill Strauss are also serving as executive producers. The creative team also includes cinematographer Florian Hofer, editor Anton Paievski, and composer Pieter de Graaf. Since making its debut, the movie has already received a Tomatometer rating of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 15 reviews.
