Guy Pearce and Alex Pettyfer star in the first trailer for Sunrise, a new vampire movie that is releasing from Lionsgate early next year.
Lionsgate Movies shared the first trailer for Sunrise, which stars Pearce and Pettyfer. The footage sees Pettyfer playing the sheriff of a rural, sparsely populated town that appears to be plagued by some sort of undead, vampire-like creature that is feeding on some of the municipality’s unluckiest inhabitants.

What is Sunrise about?
“When an ex-cop named Fallon returns to the scene of a horrific crime, the residents of a rural town soon discover that this dark visitor is really a vampire who feeds on blood and fear,” the official synopsis reads. “After he is befriended by a kind immigrant family, the instinctive killer is faced with a choice between revenge and redemption. Guy Pearce and Alex Pettyfer star in this thrilling tale penned by Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Ronan Blaney.”
Sunrise is directed by Andrew Baird, who has previously directed music videos for bands like The Weeknd, Korn, Avenged Sevenfold, and more. He previously directed two feature films, including 2021’s Zone 414 (which also starred Pearce) and 2022’s One Way (which starred Kevin Bacon).
Blaney’s past writing credits include 2012’s Love Bite, the 2015 short Boogaloo and Graham (which earned him the Oscar nomination), 2018’s Don’t Go, and 2019’s A Good Woman Is Hard to Find.
Along with Pearce and Pettyfer, the movie also stars Crystal Yu, William Gao, Kurt Yaeger, and Olwen Fouere. Producers include Martin Brennan, Jib Polhemus, Nathan Klingher, and Ford Corbett, while Janine Cobain and Katy Jackson serve as co-producers.
Sunrise releases in theaters, on Demand, and on Digital on January 19, 2024, from Lionsgate Movies.
