Jude Law is diving to the depths of suspense in the trailer for Focus Features’ Black Sea, a new thriller from Oscar-winning Scottish director Kevin Macdonald (One Day in September, The Last King of Scotland).
In the film, Law plays an out-of-work submarine worker who takes a shady job to locate a missing Nazi sub filled with $182 million dollars in gold. When members of the crew start picking each other off for a bigger share of the booty, it becomes every man for himself to take the treasure and get home alive.
Written by Dennis Kelly (whose UK series “Utopia” is being remade for HBO by David Fincher), Black Sea also features Scoot McNairy (Argo), Jodie Whittaker (Attack the Block), Ben Mendelsohn (The Dark Knight Rises), Grigoriy Dobrygin (Black Lightning) and Michael Smiley (The World’s End) and will hit theaters on January 23, 2015.
