The New Trailer for The Theory of Everything

Those curious how Eddie Redmayne (Les Miserables) took on the physically and intellectually challenging role of renowned astrophysicist Stephen Hawking need look no further than the new trailer for biopic The Theory of Everything. Check it out below!

Inspired by the memoir “Travelling to Infinity: My life with Stephen” written by his ex-wife Jane Hawking, the film tells the story of one of the world’s greatest living minds who falls deeply in love with fellow Cambridge student Jane Wilde (Felicity Jones). Once a healthy, active young man, Hawking received an earth-shattering diagnosis of ALS at 21 years of age. With Jane fighting by his side, Stephen embarks on his most ambitious scientific work, studying the very thing he now has precious little of ? time. Together, they defy impossible odds, breaking new ground in medicine and science, and achieving more than they could ever have dreamed.

“The story of Stephen dwarfs the illness,” Redmayne told Yahoo. “For him, it is of no importance. He didn?t ever want to see a doctor again after he was diagnosed. He is someone that lives forward and lives optimistically. So, for me, what this film was about was an unconventional love story, a film about loving in all its guises.”

Directed by James Marsh (Man on Wire), The Theory of Everything also stars Charlie Cox, Emily Watson, Simon McBurney, and David Thewlis, with Focus Features giving the movie a limited release on November 7.
