Disney+ has dropped the official Ice Age: Scrat Tales trailer for its newest Ice Age spin-off, which consists of six new animated shorts. The movie is set to stream on the platform from April 13.
The video, which you can check out below, begins with the fan-favorite saber-toothed squirrel Scrat as he becomes a father to a mischievous Baby Scrat. Now, the beloved mascot is torn between choosing what to prioritize first: his lifetime obsession with chasing after nuts or being a good parent.
Directed by Donnie Long, Ice Age: Scrat Tales features the voices of Chris Wedges as Scrat, and Karl Wahlgren as Baby Scrat. Robert L. Baird and Andrew Millstein take on executive producer duties, with Anthony Nisi set as a producer.
“It is a series of six all-new animated shorts starring Scrat, the hapless saber-toothed squirrel of the Ice Age adventures, who experiences the ups and downs of fatherhood, as he and the adorable, mischievous Baby Scrat, alternately bond with each other and battle for ownership of the highly treasured Acorn,” reads the synopsis.

Ice Age was produced by Blue Sky Studios, a division of 20th Century Fox. Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, Queen Latifah, Josh Peck, and Seann William Scott voiced different prehistorical creatures faced with extinction throughout the franchise. Five Ice Age movies were released in theaters between 2002 and 2016, with a combined worldwide gross of $3.2 billion. In 2021, Blue Sky Studios was shuttered, with Disney taking over exclusive rights to the series.
