Wild Eye Releasing has unveiled the official trailer and poster for its forthcoming sharksploitation horror-comedy titled Sharkula, featuring Dracula, whose darkness has no limitations as he uses a ferocious sea creature for his evil plans. The low-budget film is expected to make its debut sometime this June.

Sharkula is written and directed by Mark Polonia, who previously directed two other sharksploitation films such as Sharkenstein in 2016 and last year’s Noah’s Shark. It stars Rappaport (Return to Return to Nuke ‘Em High Aka Vol. 2) as Renfield and Jeff Kirkendall (Return to Splatter Farm) as Dracula.
“The curse of Count Dracula lives on in shark-infested waters, claiming the lives of a tourist community,” reads the synopsis. “A sea hunt for the new species results in monsters, madness, and bloodshed. This great white is putting the bite back into terror, and it has help with the aid of new vampires intent on seeing it survive.”

The emergence of the sharksploitation genre began with the success of 1975’s classic thriller film Jaws, which was followed by three more sequels throughout the ’80s. Since then, a number of sharksploitation films had been produced including Deep Blue Sea, Sharknado, The Shallows, 47 Meters Down, and The Meg.
