The official trailer for Tarik Saleh’s forthcoming action thriller film titled The Contractor has been released, starring Chris Pine, Kiefer Sutherland, and more. It is slated to arrive in theaters and on VOD on April 1, 2022.
The video features a soldier who feels betrayed by the Army after involuntarily discharging him and cutting off his pension. Because of this, he has no choice but to join a private military force in order to sustain his family’s needs.

The Contractor (formerly titled as Violence of Action) is directed by Tarik Saleh from a screenplay written by J.P. Davis. Joining Pine and Sutherland are Ben Foster (Hell or High Water), Gillian Jacobs (Community, Come Play), Eddie Marsan (Hobbs & Shaw), Fares Fares (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, A Way Out), Nina Hoss (A Most Wanted Man) and Amira Casar (Call Me By Your Name).
“The action-packed thriller follows Special Forces Sergeant James Harper, who is involuntarily discharged from the Army and cut-off from his pension,” reads the synopsis. “In debt, out of options and desperate to provide for his family, Harper contracts with a private underground military force. When the very first assignment goes awry, the elite soldier finds himself hunted and on the run, caught in a dangerous conspiracy and fighting to stay alive long enough to get home and uncover the true motives of those who betrayed him.”

The Contractor is produced by Thunder Road Film’s Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee (John Wick franchise) with 30WEST fully financing the film. 30WEST’s Dan Friedkin, Micah Green, and Dan Steinman are executive producing along with Pine, Jonathan Fuhrman, Tom Lassally, Josh Bratman, and Esther Hornstein of Thunder Road Films.
