The star of last year’s Planes is flying back into theaters this week with Planes: Fire & Rescue, a new film from Walt Disney Pictures and director Bobs Gannaway. In it, Dusty Crophopper (Dane Cook) gives up the thrill of racing for an even more important job: serving as part of the elite firefighting team that protects Piston Peak National Park.
ComingSoon.net took a trip to one of the real-world inspirations for Piston Peak, California’s Yosemite National Park, to speak with Cook about reprising his role as Dusty, to chat with Gannaway and producer Ferrell Barron about exploring and expanding the Planes universe, and to hear firsthand from art director Toby Wilson about what elements of Yosemite made it into the final film. Check out the interviews in the player below!
Also featuring the voice talents of Ed Harris, Julie Bowen, Brad Garrett, Teri Hatcher, Stacy Keach, Cedric the Entertainer and many more, Planes: Fire & Rescue hits theaters this Thursday, July 17.
