Dear Evan Hansen will again be led by original star Ben Platt as he reprises the titular role from breathtaking, generation-defining Broadway phenomenon. It will center around an isolated high schooler aching for understanding and belonging amid the chaos and cruelty of the social-media age.

Joining Platt are Amy Adams, Julianne Moore, Kaitlyn Dever, Amandla Stenberg, Colton Ryan, Nik Dodani, DeMarius Copes, and Danny Pino. The film will feature Grammy-winning songs, including the iconic anthem “You Will Be Found,” “Waving Through a Window,” “For Forever” and “Words Fail.” Stenberg is also partnering with Pasek and Paul to compose a new original song for the film.

The original Broadway musical won multiple Tony Awards in 2017, including Best Musical as well as Best Actor and Best Actress for performances of Platt and Rachel Bay Jones.
