Marvel Studios has released the TV spot for Destin Daniel Cretton’s highly-anticipated superhero martial arts film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, featuring the introduction of the MCU’s newest hero, portrayed by Simu Liu. The PG-13 film is currently slated to hit the theaters on September 3.
The Shang-Chi TV spot, which you can check out below, provides us with some new action-packed footage highlighting the power of the Ten Rings as well as the titular hero’s central dilemma of becoming like his father, The Mandarin.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings stars Canadian actor Simu Liu (Kim’s Convenience), who is set to take on the mantle titular hero in Marvel Studios’ first Asian superhero-led movie. Shang-Chi must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization.
Joining Liu are Awkwafina, Tony Leung, Michelle Yeoh, Fala Chen, Ronny Chieng, Florian Munteanu, Meng’er Zhang, and MCU alum Benedict Wong.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Short Term 12) from a screenplay he co-wrote with Dave Callaham and Andrew Lanham. It is produced by Kevin Feige and Jonathan Schwartz, with Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, and Charles Newirth serving as executive producers.
